In 2021, EMS sales for the Top 50 totaled $417 billion, an increase of $38 billion, or 9.9%, over 2020. Foxconn achieved 10.9 percent revenue growth from 2020 to 2021, accounting for nearly half (48 percent) of the top 10; Revenue growth rate of Flextronics (-1.8%); Revenue growth rate of BYD Electronics (35.5%); SIIX revenue growth rate (30.1%); Revenue growth rate of Guanghong Technology (141%); Corison revenue growth rate (58.3%); Connect Group revenue growth rate (274%); Katek revenue growth rate (25.6%); Revenue growth rate of Huatai Electronics (47.9%); LACROIX revenue growth rate (62.8%); SMT revenue growth rate (31.3 percent).
Overall, the Asia-Pacific region accounted for about 82.0 percent of EMS Top 50 revenue, the Americas for 16.0 percent, and the Europe, Middle East and Africa region for 1.9 percent, mainly due to extensive acquisition activity. The Europe, Middle East and Africa region has been a major beneficiary of the communications and computer replacement and upgrade occurring in 2021. The medical devices market expanded strongly in all three regions, as did the automotive market, thanks to a surge in interest in electric vehicles.
